Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa whose diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary. Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos.

Example Itinerary

 

Day 1 – Pick up from Airport

After our journey, today we spend our time exploring the area of Jinja and acclimatising to the local environment.

Day 2 – Project Work 

Community project work - there is so much choice it could be in a local school, orphanage, or health centre.  During this time you will gain an understanding about the local services that are on offer, this is a great opportunity to compare and appreciate what we have in the western world.

 

Day 3 – Project Work - Source of the Nile

Visiting more local services to continue on our community work journey for the morning. This is will further enhance the knowledge further of the local amenities, the local people and the amazing country.  After lunch we take a trip to see the source of the River Nile - no trip to Uganda would complete without seeing this spectacular sight!   

Day 4 - Ziwa Centre 

Safari Adventures begin - We travel north to Ziwa where we take part in a Rhino trek and hopefully we will be able to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.  After dinner we will do a night trek to experience the nocturnal side of African life.

Day 5 - Murchison Fall National Park 

Travel to Murchison Falls National Park where we will take a Nile River cruise to the foot of the magnificent Murchison Falls before heading back to camp.

Day 6 - Game Drive 

Early morning game drive through the National Park to look out for lions, hyenas, leopards, elephants, giraffe, buffalo and more.  Travelling in 4x4 vehicles you will get the optimum view point.  During this time you will learn about the animals and their habitat and what the park is doing to secure the future of this wonderful wildlife.  

Day 7 - Sight Seeing 
We say goodbye to the National Park and travel to Entebbe visiting lake Albert to take the opportunity to see even more animals and the natural beauty that Uganda has to offer, we will take this time to reflect on our journey so far.

Day 8 - Saying Goodbye

Depending on flight times we will try to get some time to do some souvenir shopping in the city, this is another experience of what other countries major cities are like while bartering for some local goods to take home.
