Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. Its diverse landscapes range from rain forest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. Famous for it's love of Elephants, Tea Plantation and Buddha. Voted as one of the best destination in the world is one of the reasons to visit this amazing island.
Example Itinerary
Day 1 – Pick up from Airport / Volunteering
Visit the Elephant orphanage to take part in their volunteer program designed to help care for this magnificent creature and support the running of the orphanage. Travel to Kandy where you will take a city tour to explore some major sights of the city.
Day 2 – Tea plantation / Jungle Trek
On route to the next destination no visit would be complete without visiting a tea plantation, learn all about how to get tea from the field to the cup. Travel to Kithugala where we will settle into our camp and take part in Jungle Trek & Adventure Activities
Day 3 – Adventure Day
Rafting down the grade 2 -3 rapids of the local river with our qualified guides before continuing on our adventurous journey to the largest cave in Sri Lanka to discover the lost generations of Sri Lankans. Evening of traditional entertainment.
Day 4 - Back to the City
The end of our adventures are near, here we travel back to Negombo to experience a traditional fishing village, take time to speak with the locals visit the local fruits, veg & fish markets. Meet the fishermen and see how traditional methods are still followed today. End the day with Beach BBQ, groups games and entertainment. Here we will reflect on our journey and share our memories.
Day 5 - Sight Seeing - Saying goodbye - Home
Time depending here we spend the day taking in the sights of the city and purchasing the last minute souvenirs before heading to the Airport for the flight home.
