Kathmandu valley is an amazing destination for adventure lovers of all ages who have limited time to spend in this glorious country, time will be spent wisely exploring the exotic temples and villages of the bygone era.  Also taking time out to visit two of UNESCO heritage sites to give an experience of the rich culture and heritage of Nepal.

Example Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Nepal meet our local guides and travel to our first destination.  We spend our time today familiarising ourselves with the area before heading of to our first evening group dinner.

Overnight stay – City hotel

Day 2: Today we start our adventurous journey, to begin our trek we will need to travel through the beautiful countryside, time will be spent trekking through watershed wildlife reserves. 

Trekking journey 5 ½ - 6 ½ hours.  Overnight stay - Country lodge

Day 3: After breakfast we will continue on our journey through the ridge and mixed forest of Pine, Oak and Rhododendron Trees, during this trek we will have plenty of time to meet the local people as we trek through the villages and get a real glimpse of mountain life here in Nepal.  We may be lucky enough weather permitting from this point be able to see the tops of some of the highest peaks in the world inc. Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse.

Trekking Journey: 6 - 6 ½ hours, Overnight stay - Local hotel

 

Day 4: Today is an early wake up to go and see the sunrise over the Himalayas, after this we will go back for a late breakfast.  After a leisurely late breakfast we start or trek to through the villages and weather permitting we will get to see the panoramic views of the Himalayas.

The rest of the day will be spent back at the hotel to relax after such an early morning start.

Trek Journey: 3 ½ - 4 ½ hours, Overnight stay - Local hotel

 

Day 5: We have made the journey up the mountain now it’s time to descend back down, during this time we will trek through scenic terraced rice fields and hopefully be lucky enough to see the other stunning snow capped peaks as we descend down.  During our trek we will experience the cultural diversities, traditional practices, and rich birdlife before heading back to the city.

Trek journey: 5 ½ - 6 hours, Overnight in hotel

 

Day 6: Today we spend time exploring the city life here in Nepal, we spend our time taking in the amazing sights that this city has to offer.

Sightseeing will include: Old Kathmandu City, Durbar square, with its old temples and palaces showing a perfect example of the cultural and religious ways of the people.

Kasthamandap – A temple made out of a single tree

Swayambhunath Stupa – One of the worlds most glorious Buddhist Chaityas (Shrine / Prayer Hall) it is said to be over 2000 years old.

Afternoon is to be free for you to explore the city on your own, a great chance for your group to make a plan on what they would like to see and arrange their own group itinerary.

Day 7 – 8 – 9 : Community Work = This is the start of giving something back to the people of Nepal, we will spend the next 3 days taking part in assisting within the community, this can be from helping to rebuild a school, painting around and within the school, mixing with the local students getting to see their way of school life while playing games and enriching the lives of both your students and that of the students in Nepal.

Day 10: This is our last day and we get ready to say and fond farewell to the beautiful country of Nepal and it’s people. Depending on flight times we may even have time to go a do a little bit of last minute shopping.
